Traditional ume plum seasoning with red shiso perilla leaves, reported to date back to the Edo Period in the 1600s. It is growing in popularity around the world for its very unique flavour profile. Its vinegar-like tanginess adds a rich flavour to a wide variety of dishes including salads, dips, vegetables, dressings, for pickling and even as a secret ingredient in cocktails.
